What documents are valid to buy the Machu Picchu Ticket?

History of one of the best hotels in Cusco, The B & B-Hotel Pension Alemana has a history of almost 25 years. When it began operating in 1994 with 6 rooms, it was one of the first family guest houses or B & Bs in the picturesque neighborhood of San Blas. Since then it has become one of the best hotels in its category. As you continue reading, you will know a little more about that story.

The original house of the hotel was built during the years 1980 to 1982 as a family home, carefully designed and built in the colonial style of Cusco. In its first years, from 1983 to 1993, it served as a home, mainly to German families, belonging to German organizations with projects of development cooperation. That’s why the locals called it “Casa Alemana”.

A Swiss friend of the owners, a tourism professional, started in 1994 the management of the house as a Hotel or “Pension” (German word for family home of guests) with 6 rooms, each with its own bathroom. Thus the “German House” becomes “German Pension” and one of the first hotels in the picturesque neighborhood of San Blas.

In its first 10 years of operation, the Hotel is little by little known for its friendly, comfortable, family atmosphere and for its favorable location in the idyllic San Blas neighborhood, so close to the tourist spots of historic Cusco. In addition, the hotel is becoming known in many tourist guides and online as “Hostel style and driving Switzerland and Germany in Cusco.” I just finished these first 10 years in 2004, the first extension of the hotel with 6 new comfortable rooms can be inaugurated. At the same time, the neighborhood of San Blas is being renovated, improving its historic and idyllic pedestrian streets, offering more and more services with craft shops, restaurants, cafes and accommodation. In this way San Blas has become the most attractive and tourist district of the Historic Center of Cusco.

In mid-2009 the hotel reached its final physical projection, completing the construction and equipment of the second extension (11 new rooms and new service areas), achieving an architectural ensemble of sober and cozy colonial style in Cusco, harmonically grouped around from a beautiful patio-central garden and with many beautiful views over the historic center of Cusco. One of the many very favorable qualifying comments about the hotel, which appears on the much-visited website TRIPADVISOR, expresses what the hotel is for many of its guests:

An ideal place to enjoy the tranquility or simply relax, after the tourist or sporting adventures (such as the Inca Trail or the Rainforest). An oasis in Cusco exciting and moved. Nowhere in my trip to South America have I felt more at ease. Heinzelfrau, Germany, January 31, 2010.

As of 2014, a complete interior professional redesign and many constructive improvements began. This made it possible, based on the strict official rules for 3-star hotels and above all based on the opening of the new breakfast room and cafeteria-restaurant Siete & Siete, Pension Alemana in 2015 was converted from a guest house into a 3 star hotel. Today it is recognized as one of the best hotels in Cusco in its category
