Can I stay in Machu Picchu all day?

Machu Picchu will allow the entry of 5,940 people each day. Previously, people could stay in Machu Picchu, from 6 am until closing time at 5 pm; however, the new visitor limit means that time is limited to 4 hours, with a tolerance time, so that people can leave Machu Picchu without haste, in each of the “two shifts”.

Machu Picchu tickets for the same day

If you want to buy Machu Picchu tickets for both shifts on the day, we recommend you take advantage of the morning to reserve, first, the Machu Picchu tickets that include the Machu Picchu mountains (which you will only have access to in the mornings) and book one whole afternoon to explore the Inca city from corner to corner.

Important

It is considered one of the shortest, most amazing mountain routes in the world; So if you want to climb the Huayna Picchu mountain, you must book the tickets at least 4 months before.

You must book the Machu Picchu tickets and immediately book your train tickets, even more so if you come during high season. Many of the train services usually run out weeks before, and usually, usually the most expensive ones remain. But if the price is not a problem, we recommend booking your tickets at the Belmond Hiram Bingham; It is one of the most luxurious trains in the world and do not forget that the train route to Machu Picchu is one of the most amazing short routes there are. Getting to Machu Picchu by train is a great experience and still lacks the best part, Machu Picchu.

Do I have to hire a guide both times I enter Machu Picchu?

The guides will enter with groups of a maximum of 16 people; they will also hand out a ticket to the people who have two Machu Picchu tickets and will enter for the second time in the afternoon. You will have to show it at the entrance to Machu Picchu to be allowed to enter, this time without the company of a guide.

If you buy the Machu Picchu tickets for two consecutive days, as in the previous case, the second day you can enter Machu Picchu with the ticket given by your guide the day before, and tour the Inca city of Machu Picchu on your own , but following the circuits indicated.
