Itinerary

Day 1Cuzco- Chaullay- Quillabamba

DEPARTURE AT 10:30 AM.

Visit the Train Cemetery 5 minutes from Uyuni, then visit Colchani, where you will observe the process of manual salt collection and shops with salt crafts, salt extraction, the thickness of the salt, the first Hotel de Sal Built with salt panels, continuing on the salt will reach the island Incahuasi, with Giant and Millenary Cactus, where from the top you can see the Salar in all its splendor, after lunch we will return on the salt road to Uyuni to be able see the sun’s entrance in the salar.

Day 2Huancacalle – Vilcabamba

First you visit the complex of Ñusta hispaña and Rosaspata, you see great variety in microclimates and some remote villages.

Day 3Vilcabamba – Cedrocasa

start walking up to the pass Colpaqasa (3696m) and then down to Cedrocasa, changing the landscape to cloud forest vegetation.

Day 4Vist Vilcabamba

Day 5Cedrocasa – Concevidayoc

Along a really rough trail you walk 2 days along the river Concevidayoc and its sidestreams.

Day 6Concevidayoc – Espiritu Pampa/ Chihuanquiri

you walk to the archaeological site of Espiritu Pampa to explore the ruins and can have camp there or some hours further in Chihuanquiri.

Day 7Chihuanquiri – Kiteni – Quillabamba

By truck to Quillabamba. Night in a hostal.

Day 8Free Time

Free time until departure of the bus. Nightride to Cuzco where you arrive the next day.

Vilcabamba

This is a rather strenuous hike in jungle and andean vegetation, visiting archaeological places like Lucma, Rosaspata, Ñusta Hispaña and villages such as Yupanca, Lucma, Consevidayoc and Vilcabamba, to end up in the ruins of the lost city of Espiritu Pampa of the last Manco Inca.
