The Qoricancha

Sacsayhuaman
The magnificent Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman is built on a hill overlooking the entire Inca empire of Cusco. They are famous for their carved stone constructions, some stones measure 30 feet high and weigh a similarity of 350 tons.

Qenqo
Located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, it has the archeological groups of Q’enqo Grande and Q’enqo Chico. Etymologically, its meaning is of a labyrinth or zigzag, its function was only religious, its exterior part has the form of an amphitheater of semicircular form with trapezoidal niches and a puma made of stone that measures six meters high.

Puka pukara
Its meaning of Puka Pukara means red fortress, the stones built have acquired the red coloration of the area, it has an abundance of iron. Because of its architectural layout and the existence of fountains, aqueducts and multiple enclosures, it was a “tambo”, that is to say, a collective shelter that offered lodging and food to the travelers (panoramic visit).

Tambomachay
It is an archaeological site that was destined to the cult of water and so that the head of the Inca Empire could rest. The place is called Baños de los Incas. They have different series of aqueducts, as well as canals and water cascades that run over the rocks. What is surprising of this is that of a main waterfall, the Incas created 2 secondary cascades, which are exactly alike. That is, in an experiment, two bottles are placed on each side of the cascade and both are filled at the same time in the cascade.
