Inca Bridge Q’eswachaka
The trip starts in the city of Cusco with the pick-up from your hotel at 7 a.m. approximately in the south-west direction. After almost two hours of travel we will visit the four lagoons: Laguna de Pomacanchi, Laguna de Acopia, Laguna Asnaqocha and the Pampamarca or Tungasuca lagoon. After enjoying a quiet moment near the lagoons, the next place we will visit is the small volcano of pavilions that is located near the town of Yanaoca.
Finally, we will reach the Apurimac River and the impressive Inca bridge. Queswachaca Bridge is over theApurímac River, and we will later appreciate an offering as a sign of respect and gratitude to the Pachamama and the renewal of the Inca Bridge.
In this tour, we will have the opportunity to cross the Queswachaca Bridge, without a doubt you will feel a great emotion when crossing this Incan Bridge and feel the hundreds of years of history under your feet. The way back to Combapata awaits us our delicious lunch in this town where we will later make the last visit, the Inca colonial bridge of Combapata where you can see the differences between both bridges. This interesting trip ends in the city of Cusco at approximately 5:00 pm.
End of Service
Tour Queshuachaca.- This bridge is the «Last Inca Bridge» and is the only one in the world. In Inca times, it was part of the Great Inca Road Network, known as «Qhapaq Ñan». This bridge is 33 meters long and 1.20 meters wide and at a height of 15 meters above the Apurimac River. It is a tradition of the local people that every year it is rebuilt, counting on the communal work of around 1000 local people from Winchiri, Ccolana, Quehue, Chaupibanda and Choccayhua.
