Day 1VISITOR ISLAND – THE FLOATING ISLANDS OF THE UROS.

Our departure begins at 6:45 am from your hotel, to go by private transportation to the main port. In the morning at 7:15 am, we will begin our journey to the floating islands of the Uros, considered the National Reserve of Lake Titicaca, commonly known as the navigable lake. During the tour, you will enjoy a wonderful panoramic view. The professional tour guide will tell you about the creation and history of the floating islands of the Uros. Currently, the Uros and its people continue to carry with them their ancient culture and traditions, such as artisanal fishing for silverside and CARACHI. If the catch is abundant, they place it on clotheslines to dry it in the sun. They also hunt wild birds and collect duck eggs. Today there are 75 islands, each of them organized for the passage of canoes, ending the long visit and amazing view, we will say goodbye to Los Uros. Our next destination to visit will be the fabulous natural islands of Taquile.

Day 2VISITOR ISLAND – THE NATURAL ISLAND OF TAQUILE

To get to our next visit, we will navigate by boat for 2 and a half hours, to the natural island of Taquile, During the canoe trip we will be able to observe the mountain ranges, we will also meet the people of Taquile who are very friendly and organized with each other. It is the main reason why the people of Taquile demonstrated a high degree of performance and creativity in the textile industry and received a UNESCO award. It is known that men are the ones who spin and weave from the age of 8 years old. Women exclusively make yarns and fabrics. Life in Taquile remains largely unchanged by modernity. We will be able to enjoy a 2 hours and a half visit, and also taste typical lunches in the area. In order to support the community, you could collaborate by buying some of their local handicrafts. For the community to be sustainable, to be able to show its beauty to the next travelers that will come in the future. Finally, our guide will inform you the return time which arrives at 17:00 pm in the city of Puno.
