Our departure starts at 6:45 am from your hotel, to go in private transport to the main port. At 7:15 am, we start our departure towards the floating islands of the Uros, currently considered the National Reserve of Lake Titicaca, also known as the highest navigable lake in the world. During the tour, we will have a wonderful panoramic view. Our specialized guide will let you know about the existence of the floating islands of the Uros. At present, the people of the Uros still maintain their own culture and tradition, as well as the artisan fishing, especially of the (CARACHI) and the pejerrey. When the fishing is abundant they conserve the fish drying them to the sun. They also hunt wild birds and collect duck eggs. There are 75 islands that live today, and each island is well organized, after a long and beautiful visit, you will say goodbye to the Uros. Our next visit is the wonderful natural island of Taquile.
To reach our next visit, we will sail by boat for 2 hours and a half, to the natural island of Taquile, during navigation you will be able to observe the mountain chain (the royal mountain range), not only that, the people of Taquile very cooperative and well organized. It is the reason why the people of Taquile have demonstrated their majestic work in textiles, receiving a UNESCO award for their work. It should be noted that spinning and weaving are made mainly by men, starting at the age of eight. Women make exclusively yarns and fabrics. The visit lasts 2 hours and you will also taste a typical lunch of the place, if you really want to be part of this community, you can voluntarily collaborate buying some of their crafts.
